- Weekdays : 08.00 A.M to 08.00 P.M
- Weekends : 10.00 A.M to 05.00 P.M
- The Central Library is kept open on all the days of the year, except on Public Holidays (approximately 340 days in a year).
Rules and Regulation
Membership
- Students, Research Scholars, Faculty and Staff of Alagappa University are eligible to become a member of the library.
Reference Access
- The section is open to the students, staff and faculty of the affiliated colleges and other institutions for in-house reference with due permission.
Borrowing Facility
- Each member has been issued with an Identity –cum- library membership smart card (RFID) and books are issued for students and staff. The number of borrowing books by members and the loan period may vary from category to category.
- Books will be issued to the members through RFID Checkout Kiosk only.
- Books have to be returned by the members using RFID Drop Kiosk only.
- Renewal of books will be allowed once, if that book is not on demand.
- A fine of Rs.1 per day will be charged for an overdue book.
- Underlining, scribbling and tearing of pages or any other type of damage / mutilation of books/ journals is strictly prohibited
- If a book is lost, it should be replaced with a new copy. If the copy is not available, then double the cost of the book with 10% of cost as processing fee should be paid.
No Dues certificate
- Members have to return all the books that they have borrowed to get NO DUES certificate.
- Readers are required to deposit their personal belongings at the property counter at the entrance of the library.
- Do not keep valuable things/ important documents in the property counter. The library is not responsible for such articles kept inside the bags.
- For photocopying and printing, the charges will be Rs.1 per page and Rs.2 per page respectively
- Readers are requested not to replace the book / journals on the racks after use.
- Strict silence, decorum and cleanliness should be maintained in the library
- No outside / personal books are allowed in the library for reading purpose.
- The librarian has all rights to recall the issued books if required.
